The Merced Police Department is investigating an attempted homicide that occurred on April 14, 2021, at approximately 8:11 AM.

Officers responded to the area of 2725 Hawthorne Avenue for reports of shots fired.

When authorities arrived, they found that the suspect had fired four rounds at the victim, hitting the residence and a vehicle in the driveway.

Police say the suspect fled on foot East on Primrose Avenue and got into a silver Chevrolet pickup. The suspect fled the area in the vehicle and is still outstanding.

Officers contacted several witnesses and gathered video of the incident, police say the suspect remains unidentified at this time.
