Merced police are currently in the 1400 block of West 10th Street investigating a shooting.

Officers responded at around 8:25 p.m. and located one victim shot in the head area according to officers who radioed dispatch.

Riggs responded to the scene and one person was taken away from the area in an ambulance.

The condition of the victim is unknown. This is a developing story stay tuned.
