The Merced Police Department is investigating a collision involving a pedestrian early this morning.

Officers responded to the area of G street and Donna Avenue at around 5:19 Friday morning for a report of a vehicle versus a pedestrian.

When officers arrived,  an unresponsive 26-year-old female was located in the southbound lanes of “G” Street.

The pedestrian sustained moderate to major injuries and was transported to an area hospital for medical treatment. The current condition of the pedestrian remains unknown.

The driver of the vehicle stayed at the collision scene and is cooperating with investigating officers.

Drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor in this collision.
