An Atwater man was arrested today after gang unit officers served a search warrant at around 5:30 p.m. at the 3300 block of Virginia Avenue in the City of Atwater.

Officers say they located two semi-automatic firearms, ammunition and crystal methamphetamine inside the home.

Stephens has a criminal history, making it illegal for him to possess firearms and ammunition, the Merced Police Department said.

Stephens was arrested for weapons and narcotics offenses. Officer Odom was the lead investigator for the operation.
