Merced Police officers arrested 19-year-old Vincent Villafan after he threatened a ten-year-old boy and his mother with a firearm in a North Merced park.

Authorities say the victim provided police with a description and location of Villafan, he was later located loitering in the 1200 block of Daylight Drive.

Upon searching Villafan, police found a stolen Springfield XD 9mm pistol concealed in his waistband. Villafan was taken into custody and booked to the Merced County Jail for terrorist threats, possession of a stolen firearm, and brandishing a weapon.
