A bomb threat was reported to a school resource officer in Merced.
School Resource officer Brian Saelee received information about a student from Hoover Middle School who made threats to friends to blow up local Middle Schools.
Officer Brian Saelee was able to verify with school officials that the student used a school computer to access websites on how to make bombs, how to purchase plane tickets, and past terrorists attacks.
Saelee, and members of the Merced Police Bomb Squad Unit searched the juveniles residence, officers did not locate any bomb making materials.
The 12-year-old juvenile was evaluated by mental health officials, he was arrested and booked to the Iris Gueret Juvenile Justice Center on the following charges, making threats to school officials, making bomb threats and criminal threats.
