The Merced CHP office congratulated Gaganpreet Billing on becoming Modesto’s Police department newest officer! Officer Billing started his law enforcement career in 2014 with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) as an Explorer with the Merced Area Post.

As a CHP Explorer, Officer Billing began to develop the skills and knowledge needed to serve the people of California. Officer Billing participated in DUI Checkpoints, ride-a-longs, and several Explorer competitions, and even obtained the rank of sergeant. In 2016, Officer Billing aged out of the explorer program but continued to assist the post as an advisor.

Gaganpreet Billing completed a 220-week-long academy at the Stanislaus Regional Training Division and graduated on February 8, 2019, becoming a Modesto Police officer.

California Highway Patrol would like to wish Gaganpreet Billing the very best as he takes the next step in this challenging and exciting career.
