Merced police is investigating after a man was struck by a vehicle Tuesday evening in Merced.

Officers responded to the intersection of West Olive Avenue and M Street at around 8:45 and located a man in his early 70s in the roadway.

Authorities say the pedestrian was walking on a crosswalk on M Street when he was struck by a vehicle traveling Eastbound on Olive Avenue making a right turn on M street.

The vehicle stayed at the scene, drugs or alcohol were not involved in this collision.

The man was taken to a local hospital with moderate injuries.
