On Thursday, January 20th, 2022, the Los Baños Police Department responded to Bank of America after receiving a call from the bank of a possible robbery attempt.

Officers responded to the bank at around 10:58 a.m, and arrived at the scene within two minutes, according to the Los Baños Police Department.

When officers arrived, they contacted 51-year-old Rosario Moreno inside the bank and was cooperative, police say.

Authorities say a bank employee reported Moreno entered the bank, approached her window, and demanded all of the money.  She was able to get in touch with her manager who called the police.

Police say Moreno did not have any weapons in his possession, nor was anyone hurt.  The staff at the bank was shaken up and felt he was attempting to rob the bank of money.

Moreno was placed under arrest and booked into the Merced County Jail.
