LOS BANOS STUDENT ARRESTED AFTER PULLING A KNIFE ON HIS FATHER ON CAMPUS

On March 2, 2018 at 9:15 a.m. a student in the Merced County Office of Education’s Sierra Program was meeting with his father and a teacher on campus. An argument ensued after the father told his son to pull up his pants.

The student pulled a pocket knife on his father and fled on foot, leaving campus without further incident. The Los Banos Police Department responded and found the student near the intersection of Pacheco Boulevard and South 11th Street. The student was arrested and transported to the Iris Garrett Juvenile Justice Complex (Juvenile Hall).

There were no injuries reported and no students were endangered as a result of the altercation between the father and son.

The safety of students and staff is a priority for the Merced County Office of Education, Los Banos Unified School District, and Los Banos Police Department.
