Have you seen a vehicle that looks like this? CHP needs your help

The California Highway Patrol (Merced area office) is requesting assistance from the public for witnesses or information relating to a traffic collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle.

During the investigation, officers determined a 49-year-old male from Atwater was walking westbound in the westbound lane of Avenue 2.

An unknown driver, driving a 2006-2011 silver Honda Civic was traveling westbound on Avenue 2.

The Honda was involved in a collision with the pedestrian which resulted in major injuries.

The Honda is believed to have damage to the passenger side headlight and missing the passenger side mirror as it was detached during the collision.

The hit and run occurred on July 21st, 2019 at approximately 10:30 p.m. to 11:15 p.m.
