Fire in Merced leaves two adults and several pets without their home

On July 11th, 2019, at approximately 11:30 a.m, the merced fire department responded to the 1300 block of Kensington Drive.

Firefighters responded to a report of a structure fire at that location. Upon arrival, firefighters observed fire showing from the garage.

Firefighters forced entry through the garage door and immediately made an interior attack.

The home interior of the structure was not damaged by the fire, most of the damage was in the garage and a vehicle parked inside, Battalion Chief Cory Haas said.

A home next to the garage had some exterior fire damage, nothing major according to Cory.

A total of three fire engines and a truck responded to the fire.

The home was put as unoccupiable, two adults and several pets were misplaced.

The fire remains under investigation no injuries were reported.
