On January 1st, 2020, at approximately 6:30 a.m., Merced County Firefighters responded to the 7000 block of Winton Way for a report of a  structure fire at La Sonrisa Bar and Grill restaurant in Winton, according to a press release from Cal Fire officials.

According to fire officials, heavy smoke was showing from the commercial structure upon firefighters arrival, firefighters extinguished the fire and prevented it from spreading to the remainder of the building and property.

According to Cal Fire officials, no injuries were reported, the fire caused moderate damage to the business and remains under investigation.
