California Highway Patrol officers are investigating a train vs vehicle collision in the town of Le Grand.

Officers responded at around 7:04 p.m to the railroad crossing on South Santa Fe and Cunningham Road and located an Amtrak train stopped nearby.

Emergency personnel was unable to locate a vehicle. During the investigation, officers were advised by dispatch that the driver had called and said he was hit by the train when he tried to cross because the railroad arm was broken, he also stated he left the scene because he was in shock but was on his way back.

No injuries are being reported, no further information is available.
