On December 26, 2019, at approximately 10:57 a.m., Merced Police Department Officers contacted 46-year-old Alfred Smith in the 900 blk of “D” Street.

Officers searched Smith and his vehicle and located a Bernardelli 380 caliber handgun, over 130 grams of methamphetamine and $340 cash.

Smith is a convicted felon, prohibited from possessing any firearms and a validated gang member. Smith is on parole and was arrested and booked at the Merced County Jail for violation of his parole terms, felon in possession of a firearm and possession of narcotics for sale.
