On June 29th, 2019, at approximately 6:50 p.m, Merced Police Department officers were involved in a chase that started in the downtown area.
Police pursued the stolen Suv Honda for several blocks, the suspect leg bailed the vehicle after hitting a new Ford truck parked in the neighborhood of West 20th and “S” street.

The suspect, 22-year-old Nathan Wood ran through several back yards. Officers lost sight of Nathan and requested Merced Sheriffs K9.
Merced Police officers were able to locate Nathan before the K9 arrived.

Nathan was booked on the following charges according to jail records, disregard/evade officers, resisting a public officer, Stolen vehicle, receiving stolen property, felon in possession of a firearm, possession of burglary tools, felony possession of a firearm with a prior conviction, violation of probation.
