A 13-year-old teenage girl was flown to a hospital with major injuries CHP says.

Officers responded to the 8000 block of Olive Avenue in Winton at around 7:19 Saturday night for reports of a Quad into a tree.

When officers arrived, they located the scene in a private property, CHP Seargent Mafana told Merced GW News.

CHP says the 15-year-old boy was driving a Go-Kart an off-highway vehicle with a 13-year-old girl when he was involved in the accident.

Both occupants were not wearing helmets, the teenage girl was flown to Valley Children’s Hospital in Madera with head lacerations, no other injuries were reported.

Alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor, CHP said.
