Two Merced County Jails closed to all visitors, this is why

According to the Merced County Sheriff’s Office, they would like to make the community aware of the closure of the Main Jail and the John Latoracca Correctional Facility.

The closure is for precautionary reasons due to the Coronavirus.

The jails will be closed through the weekend to all visitors.

This is a precautionary measure as they continue to learn more about coronavirus (COVID-19) in our nation and state.

Again, there have been no confirmed cases in Merced County.
