Two men have been arrested on murder charges according to the Merced Sheriffs department.

Deputies received a call at around 10:39 p.m., Saturday, of a man trying to gain access to a home in the 11000 block of Orchard Way in El Nido.

Prior to deputies arriving, the male subject entered the residence. The male homeowner along with his brother came home and confronted the individual in front of their residence.

The brothers chased the male and a struggle ensured. During the altercation, the male was stabbed multiple times by both brothers identified as Victor and Guillermo Candelario.

Upon deputies arriving they located the male unresponsive and began live-saving measures until medical personnel arrived.

Unfortunately, the man died on scene and both brothers were detained. Victor and Guillermo were booked into the Merced County Jail for murder. The victim’s identity was not released.
