A man and a woman were arrested in the town of Gustine for being in possession of assault weapons and narcotics the sheriff’s department reported.

Deputies from the Merced Sheriff Department STAR team and Sheriff’s enforcement team (SET) responded to the 1300 block of Olson Avenue in Gustine at around 7:00 a.m., to serve a search warrant.

During the search warrant, deputies found five loaded firearms inside the home, two of which were loaded AR-15 style rifles with no serial or identification numbers.

Authorities say they also located one ounce of cocaine packaged individually for sales, a large amount Xanax pills which were being sold out of the residence, along with approximately $8,000 dollars which were the proceeds from the sale of the narcotics.

Deputies arrested 40-year-old Erica Sanchez and 19-year-old Raul Maldanado and booked into the Merced County jail.
