Authorities are investigating a shooting after a person was shot in Merced on Monday night at around 10:30 p.m.

Officers responded to the SunnySide apartments located in the 900 block of D Street after receiving information of a shooting victim being dropped off at the hospital.

Upon arrival to the apartment complex, officers located evidence regarding the shooting.

No description of the shooter or the shooter’s vehicle was immediately available. The condition of the victim is unknown, no other injuries were reported.

The location of the shooting is the same area officers responded to about three weeks ago for reports of several shots fired by multiple individuals, no injuries were reported that day.
