Merced Police is investigating a homicide in Merced.

Officers responded to the Merced Walmart area for a report of a shooting at around 6:43 Monday evening.

When officers arrived they located a male victim in a grey Mercedes four-door sedan.

“It appears it could’ve possibly started in the Walmart parking lot, but we are still investigating and reviewing video in the area”, Merced Police Lieutenant Foster told Merced Golden Wire News.

The victim was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced deceased upon arrival, Lieutenant Foster said.

Authorities say more people were inside the vehicle that was struck by gunfire by the suspect/s in another vehicle who shot at the Sedan, police say only one male victim was hit and they are looking for the suspect/s.
