Police arrest two on Sunday morning shooting at Merced apartment complex

Merced Police arrested a  21-year-old and a 14-year-old in possession of a firearm.

Officers responded to the 2600 block of Glen Avenue for reports of a shooting on Sunday morning at around 8:39 a.m.

When officers arrived at the scene they confirmed a shooting had taken place.

Officers searched the area and found one victim in a nearby apartment suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his leg.

The victim was transported to an area hospital for his injuries. During the investigation two firearms were located.

Officers arrested 21-year-old Craig Turner on charges of a prohibited person in possession of a firearm, prohibited person in possession of ammunition, gang enhancements, and a parole violation.

A 14-year-old male juvenile was also arrested on charges of a minor in possession of a concealed firearm.

Police did not release detailed information about the shooter, detectives are still investigating to identify the motive and any other suspects in the shooting.
