OFFICER’S FOUND MARIJUANA, FIREARMS AND A MORTAR ROUND AT THE HOME

On Tuesday March, 6, 2018, at approximately 10:00 AM Turlock Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit served a search warrant at a residence in the 1000 block of Carrousel Court. During a search of the home, investigators located over 300 marijuana plants being cultivated within the home. In addition, seven (7) firearms, including one (1) illegal assault rifle, were located.

A search of a bedroom also yielded a 60-millimeter mortar round. Upon locating the mortar round, investigators exited the residence and ensured that no one was home at surrounding houses. Access to the area was limited and the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Explosives Ordinance Team was called to assist. Members of that team determined that the mortar round was inert and removed it from the area for proper disposal. Vehicular and pedestrians were allowed access to the area about four (4) hours later.

Daniel Arce-Sandoval, a 42-year-old male, was at the residence when the search warrant was served. He was arrested and booked into Stanislaus County Jail for cultivation and sales of marijuana, and possession of an illegal assault rifle. Investigators are working to determine if additional charges are warranted.
