Merced Police is investigating a report of a man who threatened to shoot his wife earlier today.

Officers were calling for a man at 465 Brittany Way to come out of the home.

The wife and kids were safely taken out of the home.

After over 2 hours at the scene, the man eventually came out of the back yard and officers rushed to arrest him before he could escape and was arrested.

Police did locate a weapon.
