Merced Police arrest Catalytic Converter Thief, this is what police say

On February 12, 2020, Merced Police Department detectives served a search warrant at a residence in the 1100 Loughborough Drive in Merced.

The warrant was being served at this location in regards to several catalytic converter thefts that had been occurring over the past few months.

The catalytic converter thefts had occurred in various parts of Merced.

At the residence, officers contacted and arrested 31-year-old Christopher Means.

Means was in possession of multiple catalytic converters and over $20,000.00 in cash. After a search of the residence was completed, Means was booked into Merced County Jail for receiving stolen property.
