Merced man arrested for vandalizing downtown Merced Business

A Merced man was arrested for vandalism police say.

On December 16th, 2020, Officer Martinez responded at around 1:48 p.m. to Cen Cal tires located on West Main Street.

Officers responded after receiving reports of a male subject who was caught tagging the alley wall of Cen Cal Tires.

Officer Martinez located the suspect, 26-year-old Marcus Taylor of Merced. Police say Marcus was in possession of spray paint cans and permeant markers. Taylor was arrested for vandalism and being in possession of graffiti tools. The spray paint and markers were taken as evidence and he was issued a citation for the vandalism.

At about 4:00p.m. again Officer Martinez was dispatched for another vandalism, this time it was at Burners also on West Main Street. This time Taylor was identified by surveillance cameras as the responsible in another crime. He was seen etching the same moniker, “BeHave”, onto the door of the business. Officers searched the area but could not locate Taylor.
