MERCED HIGHWAY 59 APARTMENTS CONDEMNED LEAVES OVER 30 TENANT’S HOMELESS

 

Merced, CA- Two apartment buildings have been condemned by the city of Merced leaving over 30 people homeless on June 22, 2017.

The units were condemned for threat, and health issues to the occupants a note on the apartment complex doors were placed. The displaced occupants included children, seniors and adults including two pregnant woman. Tenants were given only 24hrs to leave the premises.

The tenants were transported to the Merced County Department of Social Services. Catholic Charities helped get about 20 occupants shelter through the Merced County Community Action Agency, Merced Rescue Mission, D Street Shelter and county services. Catholic Charities also helped to provide motel rooms and bags of food.
