Merced, CA- On December 30th, 2016, at around 7:20p.m. A Merced High School teacher was placed under arrest after he was caught by a patrolling Merced County sheriff’s deputy at around 4:30 p.m. On 21st Street by the old court house in a 4 door toyota pick-up having sexual intercourse with a minor.
Blia Yang, 30, was booked into Merced County Jail on one count of oral copulation with a minor under the age of 18 and one count of sexual intercourse with a minor. He posted bail and was released from custody a short time later, according to Merced Sheriff’s booking record.
Yang has taught physics, Advanced Placement chemistry and other classes at Merced High School. He has been placed on administrative leave.
Merced Police Detectives have taken over the investigation.
