Man stabbed at Applegate Park multiple times, this is what happened

Officers from the Merced Police Department responded to Applegate Park on September 18th, 2019, for a report of a man who had arrived at the hospital with multiple stab wounds.

Officers responded to the park to try to locate evidence according to Sergeant Horn

The victim 34-year-old male, said he was walking on the bike bath in Applegate Park where he was confronted by two subjects who demanded his property.

When the suspects learned the victim didn’t have a wallet they attempted to steal a chain from the victims neck.

The victim fought the attackers when one of the suspects pulled a small knife and stabbed the victim several times before fleeing on foot.

The victim drove himself to the hospital for treatment.

The suspects are described as suspect 1, White Male, in his mid 20’s, short blonde hair, last seen wearing a dirty white t-shirt, and blue shoes, riding a chrome BMX style bicycle. Suspect 2, male, mid 20’s, dark hair, black hat, black t-shirt, blue jeans, and blue shoes.

The two suspects in this investigation have not been identified or arrested at this time.

The Merced Police Department are asking anyone with any information regarding this investigation to contact Detective Sergeant Alvarez at (209) 385-6905 information via anonymous text messages to police department by dialing “TIP411” (847411) and including the word “Comvip” as the “keyword” in the text message.
