Man found shot behind Bank Of America in Merced County

According to Los Banos Police, a man was found shot behind a Bank Of America.

Police responded to the area of 6th and I streets on October 13, 2019 at approximately 12:42 a.m. for a report of a shooting.

Officers arrived a found a 37-year-old Los Banos man laying behind Bank of America with a single gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to Memorial Hospital in Los Banos and later transported to a Modesto area hospital where he died.

At this time the motive for the killing is unknown.

The man was at the El Bohemia Rincon bar prior to the shooting, but it remains unclear what led to the altercation.

Detectives are currently piecing details together, examining evidence, and speaking with witnesses.
