Winton, CA – According to the Merced Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to the 7000 block of California Street for reports of a possible assault that took place in the early morning hours of June 3rd, 2020.

Deputies arrived at the residence and found a Hispanic male adult identified as 36-year-old Julio Lucero from Winton deceased.

The Merced County Sheriff’s Investigations Bureau was called to the scene to investigate an apparent homicide. While the detectives were on scene, they arrested 30-year-old Edgar Simon Duran in connection with the homicide.
