Man arrested in Fresno for stabbing a man in Atwater

A man wanted for a stabbing was arrested in Fresno the Merced Sheriff Department said.

Deputies responded to Mercy Hospital on December 6th, 2020, when they received information about a stabbing victim that had arrived.

Sheriff deputies identified the victim as a 43-year-old man, deputies later learned that the crime took place in the 8500 Block of Sunset Avenue in Atwater. Deputies identified the suspect in the stabbing as 36-year-old Kyle Holden.

On December 10th, 2020, Merced County Sheriff’s Detectives received information that Holden was in the Fresno area.

Detectives conducted surveillance at the location where Holden was said to be hiding and watched him get into a vehicle. With the assistance of the Fresno Police Department, a vehicle enforcement stop was conducted and Holden was taken into custody without incident.

Holden was transported to the Merced County Jail and booked on charges of Assault with a deadly weapon.
