Man accused of being involved in a series of business break-ins in Atwater

Atwater Police say they have arrested a man who was involved in a series of break-ins.

Officers responded to the 500 block of East Bellevue Road on December 7th, 2021, at approximately 3:50 am, for a commercial burglary alarm.

When officers arrived, they located evidence of both a break-in and a fire set at that location.

Authorities say, evidence at the scene linked this case to a series of break-ins in the same business complex over the past several days.

Surveillance video at the business led officers to identify a suspect, officers contacted the suspect a short time later in the 1100 Block of Kelso Street.

After a follow-up investigation, officers arrested 36-year-old Marcus Pulliam, an Atwater resident.

Pulliam was arrested and booked into the Merced County jail for burglary and arson.

Officers are still investigating and are asking the publics assistance in providing surveillance video in the area at the time of the incident.
