Gang Member arrested by Merced Police, this is why

The Merced Police Department said on a recent news release that they have arrested a gang member.

Merced Gang Violence Suppression Unit Officers located Tolentino in a parked car in the 1000 block of East 21st Street in Merced.

26-year-old Eric Tolentino was arrested after officers located a loaded firearm in his possession.

Eric was arrested Friday night, July 5th, 2019 in the 1000 block of East 21st Street in Merced.

Tolentino is a convicted felon and is prohibited from owning any firearms, according to Merced police.

Tolentino was arrested and booked into the Merced County Jail on weapon charges and gang enhancements.

Merced Police are asking anyone with any information regarding this crime to contact Gang Violence Suppression Unit (GVSU) Sgt. Rodriguez at (209) 385-4710 or GVSU@cityofmerced.org or the Merced Police Department Tipster Line at (209) 385-4725.
