Convicted felon prohibited from possessing firearms arrested in Merced

On January 12, 2019, the Merced Police Department’s Gang Violence Suppression Unit (GVSU) responded to 41-year-old Manuel Duran’s home located in the 1800 block of Creekside Drive in Merced where they conducted a probation search of his residence.

During the search, officers located a loaded 22 caliber rifle and ammunition. Duran is a convicted felon and is prohibited from possessing any firearms. Duran was arrested and booked at the Merced County Jail for weapons charges.
