An investigation is underway after a body was found in a canal in Merced.

The Merced County Sheriff’s Department was informed of a body in the canal on Tyler Road and West Childs Avenue near the Merced Cemetery District Thursday morning at around 8:02, Merced Sheriff’s Public information officer told Merced Golden Wire News.

Detectives along with the Merced Sheriff’s Dive team responded to the area and recovered an adult male.
