29-year-old Merced man flown to hospital with major injuries after vehicle overturns several times

The Merced area California Highway Patrol is investigating a collision that left a Merced man with major injuries.

CHP responded to the collision on State Route 59 and West Dickenson Ferry Road at around 3:00 p.m., today.

CHP says the solo-driver 29-year-old from Merced was driving a 2004 Honda Accord Eastbound on Dickenson Ferry Road West of State Route 59.

CHP says the driver veered off the roadway, causing the vehicle to overturn several times.

Authorities say the driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle.

The driver was flown to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto with major injuries, CHP public information officer Zuniga said.

Investigators believe DUI is a factor in this collision.  The collision remains under investigation.
