A former teacher from Pioneer Elementary School appears to have been booked into the Merced County Sheriff’s Department jail Monday morning.

47-year-old Teng Xiong, also known as “Art Jones” is booked in the Merced County Jail on two felony charges, including Spec alleged-sex crimes aggravated circumstances and 8 charges of lewd or lascivious acts upon a child under 14 years old.

Xiong was arrested in mid-August of 2019 on several charges of sex crimes with minors according to a press release from the Sheriff’s department. Xiong was later released from jail after posting bail.

Xiong is currently booked on a $1,000,000.00 bond, he is scheduled to appear in court on October 8th, and October 29th according to jail records.
