On February 20th, 2019, at around 4:30 p.m., Merced Police received a call of a possible shooting in the area of West 12th street and R street. According to the caller, heard 6-7 shots fired and a vehicle leaving the area.

Upon Merced Police officers arrival they did not locate a victim. A short time after the shooting police were made aware of a victim that arrived at the hospital.

Sergeant Russell said the victim is a male adult. Several bullet casings were found, some on a rock wall of an apartment complex.

At this time the area is under investigation and no further information is available according to Sergeant Russell from the Merced Police Department.
