The Merced Police Department is investigating a shooting in South Merced.

Officers responded at around 12:28 a.m.,this morning to the 100 block of East 12th Street for reports of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers located a 52-year-old male gun-shot victim. The victim was transported to a hospital for his injuries. The motive for the shooting remains unknown at this time and no suspect information was available.
