18-YEAR-OLD WANTED FOR SHOOTING TEENAGER AT LOS BANOS ELEMENTARY FOUND

On January 31, 2018, Los Banos Detectives identified Nathan Abraham, 18 of Los Banos and Gilroy as the shooter in the January 29th shooting of a 17-year-old boy near Miano Elementary School. On February 1, 2018, Police served a search warrant at Abraham’s home in Gilroy and learned that Abraham had fled to the State of Oregon.

On February 5, 2018, Abraham was arrested by Grants Pass Police Department in Oregon for an unrelated hit and run traffic collision. Grants Pass PD contacted Los Banos Detectives after discovering Abraham was wanted in connection with the Los Banos shooting investigation. The follow-up investigation led to the arrest of Abraham for the shooting and resulted in the recovery of the firearm used in the crime.

Abraham remains in custody at the Josephine County Adult Jail in Josephine County Oregon.

The key to solving this case comes from witness cooperation and is supported by video surveillance from a nearby home. As always we encourage our residents to get involved and help bring justice to all crime victims.
