18-year-old and a juvenile arrested on drugs, weapon, and gang enhancements

On June 15th, 2020, Officer Fister from the Merced Police Department attempted a vehicle stop on a silver Buick in the 700 block of West 4th Street in Merced.

During the stop, the vehicle pulled over several times, briefly but then continued without yielding completely. The vehicle then turned South on 5th Street where the right-front passenger, a young black male, later identified as a juvenile, exited and fled on foot.

As the juvenile exited the vehicle, a semi-automatic handgun fell from his waistband.

Immediately following, the driver identified as 18-year-old Karl Rogers also fled on foot from the vehicle.

Officer Fister immediately apprehended Rogers and secured the firearm. Officers set a perimeter around the block and were able to apprehend the juvenile passenger who dropped the firearm in a nearby front yard. Both Rogers and the juvenile are validated

CNT, “Crip Nigga Thugs” gang members. A search of the vehicle revealed marijuana packaged for sales as well as several different cellular phones. The juvenile was booked in the juvenile hall and Rogers into the Merced County Jail for various narcotics, weapons and gang enhancements.
