The Madera County Sheriff’s department recovered a submerged vehicle this morning at Bass Lake.

The occupants of the submerged vehicle discovered were pronounced deceased at the scene.

They have been identified as 21-year-old Samuel Rosasco of Oakhurst and 17-year-old Karina Barnett of Ahwahnee.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident according to the Madera Sheriffs Department.
