A Juvenile pedestrian was hit by a vehicle Saturday night in Merced.

Officers responded to the area of West 19 and R Streets at around 6:00 for reports of a vehicle vs pedestrian.

When officers arrived, they located a 12-year-old male Juvenile with injuries.

The Juvenile was awake and alert, the vehicle involved left the scene, according to witnesses.

Authorities have not released any description of the involved vehicle at this time, the collision remains under investigation.

The Juvenile was taken to a local hospital with injuries to his leg.
