Video released of vehicle crashing into Merced Home, suspects run from scene

Authorities are investigating a hit and run after a vehicle crashed into a home on Saturday night.

Officers responded to the 1200 block of East Olive Avenue at around 10:26 p.m. for reports of a collision.

Neighbors reported a vehicle crashed into a house and the occupants of the vehicle fled the scene on foot.

The collision caused a gas leak and PG&E was contacted to responded. Residents in the nearby area have been evacuated as a precaution. No injuries are reported.

Pets inside the home were taken out of the home by the Merced City Fire Department and appear to be uninjured.

Police have shut down some of the roads in this area, police ask citizens to avoid the area.

The driver and occupants of the vehicle have not been identified. At this time, it is unknown if alcohol/drugs were a contributing factor.
