Traffic stop ends with two arrested, police found high-capacity magazines and more

On December 5, 2019, Merced Police Department Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 1400 block of Louise Avenue for a traffic violation.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as 37-year-old Rainer Krause Jr. Krause said he was on probation and was found to be driving on a suspended driver’s license. He was arrested and upon searching Krause officers located ammunition in his pocket.

The passenger in the vehicle was identified as 33-year-old Candice Deatley.

Deatley was found to have several warrants. Krause’s vehicle was impounded. Officers inventoried the vehicle and located a loaded Tech-22 semi-automatic pistol, an AR-15 upper and lower, ammunition, four high capacity magazines and methamphetamine.

Krause was arrested and booked at the Merced County jail for felon in possession of firearm, prohibited person in possession of a firearm, carrying a concealed firearm in a vehicle, possession of a high capacity magazines, possession of methamphetamine and vehicle code charges.

Deatley was arrested and booked at the Merced County jail for felon in possession of firearm, prohibited person in possession of a firearm, carrying a concealed firearm in a vehicle, possession of a high capacity magazines, possession of methamphetamine and warrants.
