Merced Police are investigating a shooting Tuesday night.

It happened just after 9:00 p.m., officers responded to the area of West Olive Avenue and Meadows Avenue. Authorities say they responded to several calls of shots fired in the area.

When officers were responding to the scene, an officer was flagged down by the victim in the 600 block of Loughborough Drive.

Emergency crews rushed a man in his 30’s to a hospital with serious injuries, Merced Police Seargent Russell said.

Police do not have information regarding any possible suspect(s) or a motive for the shooting at this time. Police have spoken to some witnesses in the area, police are also searching for any video surveillance in the area.
