Sheriffs investigating a possible drowning at McConeell State Park, Merced County

At approximately 1:49 p.m. today, a man was found face down in approximately 3 feet of water at McConnell State Recreational Park in Merced County.

According to supervising Park Ranger Tony Tealdi, CPR was immediately performed by rangers and CalFire and pronounced the man deceased.

The Hispanic man is believed to be approximately 70-years-old, and about 200 people were at that beach were the man was found said Tony Tealdi.

At this time the possible drowning is under investigation by the Merced Sheriffs Department and they would determine if his death was by drowning or medical issues.

      Take that up with your family. Park Rangets dont know who to contact. Merced County Coroners Office has the deceased
