Merced Police is asking the community for any information they can provide to help solve this case.

On August 12, 2019, Merced Police Department officers responded to Merino Park located at  Pacific and El Redondo Avenue for a report of a shooting.

When officers arrived on scene, they located two males who had been shot.

One of the victims was a male in his 20’s, and the second victim was a 17-year-old male juvenile.

Due to their injuries, both victims were transported to local hospitals. The male juvenile was not critically injured, he was treated at the hospital and later released.

The adult male victim suffered serious injuries and was Med-flighted to a Modesto Hospital, he later succumbed to his injuries and he passed away at the hospital.

Merced Police Detectives are still attempting to identify a motive and suspects in this case.
